New Build House, Westfield

Lewis McMillan Architects managed to gain planning permission for a new build house on a sloping site just outside of the village development boundary and within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The house allows for a local couple to downsize, creating living accommodation on the ground floor. The ground floor is mainly open plan with a sliding wall to allow for flexibility. Additional bedrooms are located within the roof. The design takes advantage of the topography of the land whilst minimising the effects on the surrounding and nearby properties.  A large terrace and balcony to the rear make the most of the undisrupted views of the High Weald.
